2008 Corvette LS3 Coupe Indy 500 Pace Car (1:24 Scale)
The Franklin Mint Model No. B11F094

For car guys, the sounds of Summer are filled with the cheer of the crowd and the thunderous sound of hundreds of tires blistering over the track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Now, to once again honor America's favorite annual kickoff to Summer, Franklin Mint Precision Models is proud to introduce the 2008 Corvette® LS3 Indy 500® Pace Car in two special Limited Editions! Painted in basic black over silver checkered-flag coves, reminiscent of the first Corvette® Pace Car in 1978, these pace cars lit up the track with their all-new LS3 motors churning out 430 horsepower and a whopping 424 foot pounds of torque. The 2008 Indianapolis 500® was a unique and landmark year in Corvette® Pace Car history. This would be the 10th - and 5th consecutive - time that a Corvette® was used to pace this nostalgic event. No other car can lay claim to those attainments. 2008 also marked the 30th anniversary since the first Corvette® was used as a Pace Car in 1978. Additionally, this year would be the first time in Pace Car history that more than one car was used to start the race.

The 2008 Corvette® LS3 convertible would be one of the three Corvettes® selected to lead the 33 cars and drivers of the 92nd Indy 500® across the "Yard of Bricks." To commemorate this 30th anniversary, the '08 LS3 convertible would be painted in basic black over silver checker-flag cove graphics and traditional Indianapolis 500® badges, reminiscent of its 1978 predecessor. However, appearance is where the similarities would end. Performance-wise, this car would literally be miles ahead of the first Corvette® Pace Car, with nearly twice the horsepower of the L82 and suspension and handling technology that was not even dreamed of in 1978. Additionally, the LS3 convertible was equipped with a 6-speed, clutchless paddle shift automatic-mode transmission. To add further distinction, the track car and limited edition replica cars that would be sold to the public would each be signed by two-time Indy 500® winner and world champion, Emerson Fittipaldi.

With all original track car-correct graphics and details like tonneau cover strobe lights, Simpson racing seat belts and fire extinguisher, The Franklin Mint is pleased to offer its faithful 1:24 scale die-cast replica to honor this historic event and unique automobile.

The Franklin Mint Model No. V005041

There's only one manufacturer that dominated the race car world in the 1920's; only one whose form is as unrivaled as its function. There is only one legend; one icon of world-class performance. There's only one...Mercedes-Benz.

This 1:18 scale precision model car is a detail-exact miniature of the elegant and powerful Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR that Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson drove to victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia, the famously treacherous endurance race through Italy. 1938 Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic Coupe, (1:18 Scale)
The Franklin Mint Model No. V005042

The Type 57 SC Atlantic was the masterpiece of Jean Bugatti, the only son of the great "patron" Ettore Bugatti. It was an extraordinary feat of automotive engineering at that time, both in design and construction. This alluring automobile was introduced at the 1936 London Car Show and astonished the viewing public. Only three examples were built, but the Type 57 SC Atlantic, powered by a 3.3 liter inline 8-cylinder engine, was the fastest street car of its time. No other car could compare to the elegance and perfection of this breathtaking two-seater.

The Atlantic combined beauty and function in its aerodynamic design. It starts with the end-to-end riveted dorsal seam, which gives the car even more character, and continues with the headlamps that give the appearance of "eyes." These are just two small examples of the distinctive traits that we exquisitely recreated in our model. These details combine to give this model great charisma and unique presence.

To create this model, we have replicated chassis number 57.591, the third and last original to be built. It was built in May 1938 and delivered to the English businessman R.B. Pope.
Technical data of the original vehicle:

    * 8-cylinder in-line-engine with two overhead cam shafts
    * Compressor (Roots-Supercharger)
    * Dry sump lubrication
    * Displacement: 3,257 ccm
    * Bore x Stroke: 72 x 100 mm
    * Maximum output: approx. 200 hp at 5,500 rpm
    * Top speed: approx. 200 km/h
    * Right-hand drive
    * Mechanical cable-operated brakes
    * Wheel base: 2,980 mm
    * Track width front / rear: 1,350 mm
    * Total length: approx. 4,510 mm

1954/55 Mercedes-Benz Racing Car Transporter by CMC, (1:18 Scale)
The Franklin Mint Model No. V005007

There's only one manufacturer that dominated the race car world in the 1920s; only one whose form is as unrivaled as its function. There is only one legend; one icon of world class performance. There's only one...Mercedes Benz.

This astonishing car is a 1:18 precision model of the Mercedes-Benz Race Car Transporter, which first appeared on the scene in 1954. The Transporter had a unique, hand-built body painted in deep blue and was powered by the same 192 hp in-line 6 cylinder fuel-injection engine as in the 300SL. This Blue Wonder created as much fascination as the racing cars (e.g. W196, 300 SLR). When Mercedes-Benz withdrew from racing at the end of 1955, the Transporter disappeared from public view. At the beginning of the 1990s, however, the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center constructed a replica of the original.

This award-winning model (Model of the Year 2002, Super-Model of the Year 2002, Model of the Year 2002) is hand-assembled from 409 metal components and includes an amazing replication of the loading ramps, which are removable from the storage space so the car can actually be driven up onto the bed.

You won't want to miss this extraordinary chance to own a piece of the Mercedes legend today!
