At the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500®, Corvette® paced the field for the fourth year in a row--quite the honor for America's Sports Car! This spectacular precision model of that torrid Corvette® classic drives you straight to the oval at the Brickyard. It's packed with authentic detail that includes a precise re-creation of the LS2 small-block V-8 under the hood, its Z06™ rear spoiler, split-spoke wheels, Atomic Orange paint scheme, gold-ribbon graphics and complete array of Indy 500® logos. Setting the pace in die-cast collectibles, this model was assembled by hand, hand-painted and hand-finished. The only thing this stunning die-cast collectible is lacking--a place of distinction in your collection.
In 2007 Corvette® marked a record 9th time that America's sports car had been honored with pace car laurels.
2007 was also the first year since 1998 that GM offered replicas of the Indy 500® Pace Car to the public. For just under $67,000, enthusiasts could enjoy the six-speed manual version with the Z51 performance package (distinguished by a stiffer suspension), state-of-the-art navigation and sound system. For about $1,225 more, customers could opt for the six-speed, paddle-shift automatic transmission.
Approximately 500 pace car replicas were built. Naturally, they featured all the bells and whistles of the car that led the way at Indy on May 27, 2007. The official logo of the Indianapolis 500® was combined with GM's gold-ribbon graphics against an Atomic Orange paint scheme. Indy 500® badges appeared on the fenders and on selected locales in the interior, and were even embroidered on the black leather-upholstered bucket seats.
This history-making Corvette® was equipped with a small rear spoiler and sporty silver split-spoke wheels. Residing under the hood, the powerful 400hp LS2 V-8 that provided punch to complement the pizzazz of the car that led the pack at the Indy 500® in customary

In 1968, Ford continued with the restyled, larger and heavier, higher Mustang platform that was introduced in the previous model year. With the horsepower war raging, Ford was forced to up the ante, using its existing big blocks in the new '67 - '68 offering. To accommodate the dimensionally larger engine, the body had to be widened 21/2 inches, resulting in a 2 wider front and rear track. This not only gave the car more sure-footed handling, but added to its already menacing stance.
For the '68 model year, Mustang received a mild facelift. The most notable change was the deletion of the '67 simulated vents in front of the rear wheels, replaced with a cleaner-looking vertical chrome trim bar integrated into the side C-scoop. Adding the sleek, profiled fastback body option made for the perfect blend of aggressive and elegant design. The 390 engine would be basically the same as '67 with a new name, GT390, and a token 5 additional horsepower.
The Franklin Mint is proud to offer its 1:24 scale tribute to the 1968 Mustang GT Fastback - with all the unique features of the original, including a fully detailed GT390 engine and sizzling Sixties-style interior. Worldwide Limited Edition of 1,500.

Chrysler made its mark with its HEMI® engine and the undeniable leader, the Plymouth Barracuda. Combining the powerhouse engine and the Barracuda design, Chrysler reached the pinnacle of Muscle Car production, with the meanest, most powerful 'Cuda ever.
Worldwide Limited Edition of 1,000.
Muscle Cars were heard revving their engines at every street light. From the late 1960s to the early 1970s, car manufacturers kept upping the ante so that each new offering boasted more power, larger engines and more pizzazz! In this competitive spirit, automobiles were designed to out-drag, out-rev and out-gas-guzzle each other.
Truly, one of the leaders of this pack was Chrysler, who made its mark among the Muscle Cars with its Hemi® engine. And among Chrysler's Hemi®-equipped cars, the leader was undoubtedly the Plymouth Barracuda. With the combination of the Hemi® engine and the Barracuda design, Chrysler had reached the pinnacle of Muscle Car production, for it was the meanest, most powerful, fastest Barracuda ever to cruise the streets of America.
The 1970 Hemi® 'Cuda had a huge Shaker scoop that was standard on the 426 Hemis®, underneath which sat a power that had few equals. With twin Carter AFB (aluminum four-barrel) carburetors, the 426 Hemi® produced an extraordinary 425 horsepower, an engine that certainly could flex its muscle at any straight-away. Complementing this reputation for speed and enhancing the 'Cuda's appeal was the car's Rallye Instrument Cluster, which included a 150mph speedometer and an 8,000 rpm tachometer.
The groovy '60s were fading away, but the fashion and "flower power" vibe were in full swing at your local Plymouth dealership. In 1970, the floral-patterned "mod top" could be ordered from the factory in place of the standard black or white vinyl tops on the Barracuda and 'Cuda lines. You could order your car with or without matching mod top interior, depending on your "groove." Several other patterns and colors were available throughout the Chrysler model lines. However, only one HEMI®-powered 'Cuda was ever delivered from the factory with the mod top option as originally installed.
Now, this one-of-a-kind rarity is re-created in an authorized, precision-engineered replica, crafted in authentic detail by Franklin Mint Precision Models. From the fully detailed re-creation of that massive Hemi® under the hood to the "hockey stick" graphics on the fenders and Rallye Instrument Cluster, your 1970 Plymouth Hemi® 'Cuda Mod Top Limited Edition is certain to be a treasured showpiece in your die-cast collection.

In 1966, Carroll Shelby® ordered a loaded 1967 Mustang convertible and a notchback coupe (converted to GT-500 specs as a loaner car, test mule and promotional vehicle), later to become known as Little Red. The coupe was widely exposed to the press, but the ragtop spent most of its time as an employee driver or courtesy car for potential Shelby® customers. Early marketing indications showed that a convertible version of the now-popular Shelby® fastback would do well as part of the Shelby® American line. But it would be another year before that would officially happen.
At some point in the car's history, it managed to be out of sight long enough to escape the corporate policy requiring all test and engineering cars to be destroyed. Perhaps to protect it or just to meet the new-year model change, the red convertible was stripped of its 1967 trim, transformed into a 1968 model and used to promote Shelby's® new model for the 1968 year. Eventually, the car was sold as a used 1968 GT-500 convertible and disappeared into the public sector.
Thirty years later, the car was purchased from a private owner under the guise of it being a 1968 Shelby®. It was not long before the new owners came to a shocking conclusion: it was the only 1967 Shelby® convertible ever made! Fueled by this revelation, the car was restored to exacting standards and researched for over seven years to be sure that all features and unique 1967 details were restored to original condition.
The newly restored convertible debuted at the 2004 Chicago Auto Show, where it was reunited with ol' Shel himself. Surprised at the car's survival, citing Ford's policy of destroying experimental cars, Shelby® was pleased to find it had indeed somehow survived. Documentation supports this car as built in December of 1966 and coded as a 1967 production build Q3-code Shelby® convertible. It was originally equipped with the 428 Police Interceptor engine, C-6 automatic, air conditioning and black décor interior. Gleaming with Candy Apple Red paint, a potent 428 PI engine/C-6 transmission combination, GT-500 designation, white convertible top and Shelby® wheels.
The Franklin Mint is proud to present the definitive Shelby®, the one and only 1967 GT-500™ EXP convertible, beautifully replicated to the exacting standards originally assigned by Shelby® American.

In late 1964, Ford started a legacy of its own with the first Mustang. In the years to follow, the public would clamor for additional and more diverse versions of this dynamic car. One attempt to satisfy the pony car feeding frenzy was the California Special. Ford was able to blend unique features of the Shelby® with a 390 big block engine and bold side stripes... almost instantly devoured by street and strip enthusiast alike.
Worldwide Limited Edition of 2,500.
The Mustang California Special, offered only in the hardtop body style, featured unique side scoops, rear deck lid and taillight treatment, and dynamic body side stripes with distinctive script lettering. Under the hood, a wide range of optional engines was available, but the big block 390 really got the business done, both cruising at highway speeds and taking the finish line at the drag strip. Roughly 4,000 of these rare and desirable Mustangs were produced, making the 1968 Ford Mustang California Special still sought after today by collectors and enthusiasts.

For car guys, the sounds of Summer are filled with the cheer of the crowd and the thunderous sound of hundreds of tires blistering over the track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Now, to once again honor America's favorite annual kickoff to Summer, Franklin Mint Precision Models is proud to introduce the 2008 Corvette® LS3 Indy 500® Pace Car in two special Limited Editions! Painted in basic black over silver checkered-flag coves, reminiscent of the first Corvette® Pace Car in 1978, these pace cars lit up the track with their all-new LS3 motors churning out 430 horsepower and a whopping 424 foot pounds of torque. The 2008 Indianapolis 500® was a unique and landmark year in Corvette® Pace Car history. This would be the 10th - and 5th consecutive - time that a Corvette® was used to pace this nostalgic event. No other car can lay claim to those attainments. 2008 also marked the 30th anniversary since the first Corvette® was used as a Pace Car in 1978. Additionally, this year would be the first time in Pace Car history that more than one car was used to start the race.
The 2008 Corvette® LS3 convertible would be one of the three Corvettes® selected to lead the 33 cars and drivers of the 92nd Indy 500® across the "Yard of Bricks." To commemorate this 30th anniversary, the '08 LS3 convertible would be painted in basic black over silver checker-flag cove graphics and traditional Indianapolis 500® badges, reminiscent of its 1978 predecessor. However, appearance is where the similarities would end. Performance-wise, this car would literally be miles ahead of the first Corvette® Pace Car, with nearly twice the horsepower of the L82 and suspension and handling technology that was not even dreamed of in 1978. Additionally, the LS3 convertible was equipped with a 6-speed, clutchless paddle shift automatic-mode transmission. To add further distinction, the track car and limited edition replica cars that would be sold to the public would each be signed by two-time Indy 500® winner and world champion, Emerson Fittipaldi.
With all original track car-correct graphics and details like tonneau cover strobe lights, Simpson racing seat belts and fire extinguisher, The Franklin Mint is pleased to offer its faithful 1:24 scale die-cast replica to honor this historic event and unique automobile. Worldwide Limited Edition of 5,000.
