One of the classiest and most successful racing sports cars of all times. A flagship for Ferrari's endurance racing this Pininfarina designed stunner featured an extra light aluminum body. A victory at the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1958 by Olivier Gendebien and Phil Hill cemented the cars legacy in automobile history. The name Testa Rossa was created because of its red painted valve hoods of the powerful 300 hp 12 cylinder engine. The body is more than spectacular, the so-called "pontoon fenders" gave the car its' extraordinary look. In total 23 cars were released, with 19 vehicles going to racing teams, and the additional four cars built just for the Scuderia Ferrari. In 2009 Maranello held the now famous auction "Leggenda e Passione", where a 250 Testa Rossa "Pontoon Fender" was sold for an astounding $12.5 million - a true testament to the elegance and rarity of this car.

The 1961 Ferrari 156 F1 had a unique front design that led people to give it the nickname Sharknose. Technically and visually, the 156 F1 was a smashing success. The 1961 Formula 1 season came up with a completely new rule, racing teams would need to switch their engines from 2.5 to 1.5 liters. Having developed a V6 mid-mounted engine with a 120 degrees cylinder angle and a maximum output of 190 hp, Ferrari found itself in a very good position. On the track Phil Hill became the first American Formula 1 World Champion. Sadly, the German Ferrari star Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips who led the ranking for most of the season, became involved in a deadly accident in Monza.

This model beautifully re-creates the successful GP appearances of the 156 F1 during the 1961 season. Details include:
