Mack L, Closed Cab Pumper, Engine Company No. 50, Chicago Fire Department, (1:50 Scale), Corgi Model No. US52804 (5.75 In. x 2 In.)

The first engine house for the Chicago Fire Department was built in 1835 on LaSalle Street where City Hall currently stands.  At the time, they operated two-hand engines.  Present day, there are over 4,000 firefighters that serve the city.  The Mack L depicted here is Engine 50.  It is a brand-new casting for Corgi and a classic for the CFD.  This Anniversary Collectible is limited to 1956 pieces!  Rear view of pumper.

Mack C Pumper, Engine 31, Baltimore Fire Department (1:50 Scale)   
Corgi Model No. US53205 (6 In. x 2 In.)

This 1965 Model C-95 had a diesel engine with a 1,000 gpm Waterous pump with a 300-gallon water tank.  The pumper was placed in service as Engine Co. 31 (north Baltimore) in May 1965.  In 1973, when Engine 31 received a new unit, the pumper was placed in service as Engine Co. 43 (also north Baltimore) and served there until November 1982, thus completing 17 years of first-line service to the department.  The unit further served as a reserve engine until 1987, thus completing 22 years of total service to the Baltimore City FD.
