These military Cobras were scheduled for demilitarization (demolition) but the Florida Division of Forestry convinced the Pentagon to save them and use them for other purposes such as fire fighting and homeland security. In 2000, these helicopters were the first helicopters to be put into fire service by the government, saving taxpayers millions of dollars.

The first engine house for the Chicago Fire Department was built in 1835 on LaSalle Street where City Hall currently stands. At the time, they operated two-hand engines. Present day, there are over 4,000 firefighters that serve the city. The Mack L depicted here is Engine 50. It is a brand-new casting for Corgi and a classic for the CFD. This Anniversary Collectible is limited to 1956 pieces! Rear view of pumper.
